Keeping an M1 MacBook Air
The first Apple silicon MacBook Air is still a capable machine. Whether to keep it is a support and battery question, not a slogan.

MacBook Air 13-inch (M1, 2020) launched as Apple’s first mass-market silicon laptop. MacBook Air 13-inch (M4, 2025) is the current Air we catalogue. The upgrade landing for the M1 model uses the same documented defaults as phones: unknown battery, typical use, working condition.
We do not invent a typical laptop lifespan. Remaining months come from Apple’s vintage and obsolete windows applied to macOS hardware, or they are omitted. Laptop battery and screen fees are omitted until we have a dated Apple UK service figure to cite — the same rule as phones.
